“One Pakistani’s loss means consequences for India”: Khawaja Asif warns

The long-standing tension between the two nuclear-armed South Asian powers is taking a new turn. Recently, former Pakistani Defense Minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) party, Khawaja Asif, made a statement saying,
“If even one Pakistani is harmed, then India will have to bear the consequences.”

This statement is not just a warning, but a reflection of the current tense situation in India-Pakistan diplomatic relations.

Khawaja Asif’s comments come at a time when incidents of violence, arrests and human rights violations against the Muslim community in India are creating international debate. Pakistan has always been strongly critical of these incidents and expressed concern for the safety of its citizens and religious groups.

Recently, allegations of oppression against Muslims have surfaced in Kashmir, Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh, which have sparked outrage in Pakistan. Khawaja Asif’s comments assume special significance in this context.

Khwaja Asif’s language was very harsh and threatening.
He said:

“Pakistan understands the value of the life of every one of its citizens. If any Pakistani is targeted with a threat, India will not forget it – we know how to respond.”

The comments have raised concerns in the international community.
The UN and the OIC have already called on both India and Pakistan to engage in peaceful dialogue and protect the rights of minorities.

Analysts say that constructive dialogue, not war, between the two countries is essential for regional stability.
